More than a century ago, our School was founded with ample vision and the abundant good will of a supportive and giving community. Its establishment was a bold and significant venture on the part of its first headmaster, Ernest Albert Gill.
Fondly known to older generations as 'Prep' much has changed since 1911. Over the decades, a range of wonderful traditions from the school cap to the emphasis upon good manners have become part of the very fabric of Toowoomba Anglican School. Our heritage is important to us for it helps to shape who we are and, at the same time, provides a springboard to look confidently to the future. Along the way, a strong belief in the School’s spirit and purpose has been aided by generous philanthropic support to enhance educational opportunities for all our students.
The TAS Foundation was formed in 1988 with the aim of providing financial support to the Toowoomba Anglican School to lessen the adverse impact on the financial position to the School and help us to keep TAS accessible to all. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible and will be acknowledged appropriately within the Foundation's gifting policies.
We invite you to browse through the Giving opportunities outlined below. Please consider the options, including the Building Fund, the Bursary Fund and the Gill Society, through a bequest or gift.
Maintain our magnificent campus and provide bursaries to families in need
The Foundation's work extends to the ongoing renewal of the school's buildings and investment that secures the school's physical foundation for the future. As well, through the provision of bursaries the Foundation offers opportunities to young people who might not otherwise be able to attend the school.
Play important role within the school community
The Foundation works to foster a sense of community and strengthen the school's culture, engaging alumni, parents, and community members in alignment with the school's traditions, values, and future aspirations.
Encourage a sense of ownership and attachment
With Foundation membership comes a great sense of 'ownership' and pride in TAS' achievements.
Providing contemporary learning and boarding spaces is essential to support students to achieve their full potential. The Foundation continues to invest in infrastructure projects that enable students to collaborate, learn and live independently.
TAS' mission, Together we believe, Together we care, Together we learn, Together we thrive serves, supports and upholds our history of empowering young people through education. Through bursaries, the Foundation is committed to offering opportunities to young people who might not otherwise be able to attend the School.
The TAS Foundation is the conduit for benefactors to establish and maintain bursaries to assist current and potential students, including those from rural and remote parts of Australia.
You are invited to strengthen our philanthropic legacy by leaving a gift for the next enriching chapter in the future of TAS students. If you are interested in supporting a bursary or contributing to the building fund, please contact the Foundation Coordinator at foundation@taschool.qld.edu.au.
